The CS5 circular saw runs from a 120 volts supply and it is corded. While the lower guard has an anti-snug feature to prevent accidents, it weighs approximately 10 lbs, with a diameter of the 7.5-inch blade. Despite the fact that this is cheaper than other brands and models of the same type, it offers enormous power and durability. It is by far, one of the most preferred brands by most individuals, especially those who haven’t tried other circular saws yet. CS5 Bosch Circular Saw
During my construction and woodworking jobs, I often found myself using the circular saw more and more. I use it to cut hardwood that I use to make pieces of furniture, and house parts like windows, doors, etc. However, most of the blades of the circular saws that I've been using tend to wobble during prolonged use. There was also a time when the circular saw wasn't able to output the necessary power to make an efficient cut on the wood. Bosch CS5 Price

This saw replaced another Bosch that was dropped 4 feet and landed on concrete. The base plate was twisted and the blade was a quarter inch out of alignment. Repair parts were no longer available for it. Bought this one as I am left handed and was excited to get a left handed model instead of a right sided one. Based on other reviews, I was concerned about the base plate flatness and blade alignment to the baseplate edge. When I set my new one up I found that the baseplate was flat and the blade alignment was spot on. I docked the review one star for two reasons, first, the bevel cut needed adjustment which was easy to do and second, I was disappointment that the saw did not come with either a case or a bag. If you follow cordless tools, you’ll know that they rarely stay on the market more than a year without some sort of update. But some of the circular saws have been out more than 15 years and are still chewing up wood reliably. While not every saw we looked at takes home a top recommendation, each have their place. Scroll to the bottom to see the entire list.
The Bosch CS5 power circular saw is a great all around tool that is capable and delivers on quality. I used this power saw to help construct a gazebo in the back yard and have brought it on multiple job and its been great, particularly as someone who is right handed and has used other inferior circular saws. The seven and a half inch blade is what I wanted, and the power that this circular saw packs is more than enough to saw through every possible type of wood you could select or encounter. In addition, Bosch has made a circular saw that gives you a great line of sight and is built to last! This is my second circular power saw and I’m counting on it being my last. This is a great saw that has exceeded my expectations. Its a solid power saw that can handle whatever you throw at it. Bosch CS5 Circular Saw Review

Whether it’s new construction or maintenance, many jobs require drilling holes in concrete. Selecting the right tool for the job is critical, but making the right choice can be complicated. Types of tools, bit holding systems and drill bit types, as well as nature of the job that needs to be done and availability of electric power – these are some of the variables that need to be taken into consideration.

The saw blade of the cs5 is positioned on the left side of the power tool. This means that right-handed users will be placed to the left of the tool when holding it in the correct position and therefore you will have direct line of site of where the blade is cutting. Until you’ve tried this the other way round, you won’t appreciate how useful this is! Having a clear view of where the blade is cutting ensures a more accurate cut all round.
When one of these drills is jammed – put into a bind-up situation – applying power to the motor will not free the bit. Some of these new cordless tools have power to spare, and sudden high-torque movements rotate the drill … and the operator's wrists and arms. This at the least is tiring. It can be dangerous. Sometime the tool will twist out of the user's hand, swing around and hit the operator or someone close to the tool, causing bodily harm.
The DeWalt DWE575SB is an very light saw at only 8.8 lbs and powerful reaching up to 5,100 RPM. It will also make bevel cuts up to 57° with stops at 22.5° and 45°. The cutting depth is tops too at 2.55 inches at 90° and 1.9 inches at 45°. But perhaps one of the best features is the electric brake which will quickly bring the blade to a halt when the trigger is released. Bosch CS5 120-Volt 7-1/4-Inch Circular Saw

“Great power, won’t bog down even if you’re slightly off a straight line. This saw will rival your giant framing saw and save your arm due to it’s lower weight. Too early to tell how all the adjustments perform and how the table holds up to pro use, but early signs look great! I bought this saw for precision work since the blade is on the left (I’m right handed), but it instantly became my daily use saw; my framing saw is resting!” Bosch Model CS5
Immediately after opening, I set the included blade aside and installed a fresh Freud blade, which I highly recommend. I found a use for the kit blade when demolishing a 100-year-old roof, which consisted of several layers of shingles, flashing, nails, and solid oak supports. Though this is not the intended use of the saw or blade, it got the job done after my reciprocating saw failed.
A:  If it’s not cutting square this can be a few things. The first to check would be to ensure the bevel is set to 0° on your bevel adjustment. Then check if the blade is secure and not damaged or warped. If all else checks out, then you might need to make a bevel adjustment to return it to square. This video gives a good example of how you would need to do this.

You’ll find a circular saw in nearly every Pros arsenal. Corded models offer nearly infinite power as long as electricity is hooked up or there’s a generator nearby. And with most models offering a 15-amp motor, you get reliably solid power. Even the DIY models can make an effective cut with decent speed using an excellent blade. Around the country, these benefits make Pros keep choosing the cord over cordless convenience. Plus, corded tools don’t force you to stick with one brand’s battery platform – you can get the best tool in each class no matter who makes it.

Bosch CS5 120-Volt 7-1/4-Inch Circular Saw

I bought the CS5 Circular Saw in May of 2015, and after two months of sporadic use the carbon brushes and armature needed to be replaced. It was repaired -- under warranty -- at the Bosch service facility in Anaheim, California. After another two months of normal / typical use, the carbon brushes and armature need to be replaced again. WTF? Is there an issue with the quality of the components Bosch uses for this particular saw? For five months of ownership and use, I expected something a bit more reliable. Not many choices for blade-left circular saws that are affordable, so I'll get this CS5 fixed again while it's under warranty. Bosch CS5 Circular Saw Review
Hitachi is one of those brands you didn’t realize was into making power tools and then you realize that not only do they make them, but they make some great tools. Hitachi was originally founded in 1948 manufacturing coal mining machinery and electric power tools. Since then, they’ve grown their tool lineup to include pneumatics, metalworking, woodworking, drills, saws, and much more. Bosch CS5 Circular Saw

All of us who are into construction or woodworking have our own reasons for buying a good circular saw. We may use it for making pieces of furniture, or for heavy duty construction. The main reason, however, still remains the same--we need a circular saw that is not only affordable, but also durable and portable. As such, we require this kind of saw that strikes a good balance in all of the aforementioned criteria.
The best circular saw overall is the Makita 5007MGA. It doesn’t have everything we’re looking for (most of us are blade-left guys), but it has all the other key components. It blends fast blade speed with deep cutting and takes advantage of magnesium to come in well under 11 pounds. On the feature side, it has the blade brake we consider a requirement for top Pro consideration, solid construction, 56 degrees of beveling with stops, and a cutline blower.
