This is the price (excluding shipping and handling fees) a seller has provided at which the same item, or one that is nearly identical to it, is being offered for sale or has been offered for sale in the recent past. The price may be the seller's own price elsewhere or another seller's price. The "off" amount and percentage simply signifies the calculated difference between the seller-provided price for the item elsewhere and the seller's price on eBay. I bought the CS5 Circular Saw in May of 2015, and after two months of sporadic use the carbon brushes and armature needed to be replaced. It was repaired -- under warranty -- at the Bosch service facility in Anaheim, California. After another two months of normal / typical use, the carbon brushes and armature need to be replaced again. WTF? Is there an issue with the quality of the components Bosch uses for this particular saw? For five months of ownership and use, I expected something a bit more reliable. Not many choices for blade-left circular saws that are affordable, so I'll get this CS5 fixed again while it's under warranty.
Two of the most notable features really play very well with one another. Those are the two LED work lights and the integrated dust blower. Both will allow you to clearly see your cut-line and ensure you are getting the most accurate cut you can. The scales on the shoe and the bevels are easy to read and all adjustments can be made with a single hand.
There is no case to store it in. That was fine with me because I already had a designated spot for it in my cargo trailer. As for the outward appearance, It’s the standard blue shell, red trim and logo, with brushed metal accents. There is no safety trigger. This could be dangerous for children but a blessing to experienced users. I find some safety triggers to be hazardous because you have to focus on squeezing the trigger rather than focusing on the task at hand. Weighing in at 10 lbs., it’s lighter than the old circular saws I was accustomed to. The grip of the handle felt the same as my old saws except for a little rubber padding which was nice. The cord length on this and every other corded tool in history is too short for many typical tasks but that’s what extension cords are for. The sound of the saw is the same piercing scream and wind-down that we all love. There is no electric brake.

This saw is considered to be lightweight because of components made of magnesium, which makes it balanced and tough during in use. Its powerful motor, which delivers 15A of power, makes it easy for you to cut even the thickest lumber. It also comes with large capacities of bevel and cutting. It can give you a positive stop of 22.5 degrees to 45 degrees respectively. It also comes with LED light, and ruler markings that will allow depth and base guide to make accurate measurements and cuts. It is designed to withstand some abuses, which is compensated by the power cord it comes with. Bosch CS5 Rip Fence

I was very disappointed in the blade depth locking mechanism and the baseplate as well with it's curved bottom edge making it hard to run against a thin straight edge. Because of the locking mechanism there's no strength between the saw and the base. Loved my left handed Porter Cable much better but couldn't find one. I own many quality Bosch tools but this one is not in their league. Bosch CS5 Case

While they sound cool and are fun to brag about, I haven’t personally found them more than slightly useful for setting up a cut initially. Not only are they only nominally accurate, but once I’ve begun cutting, I’m too focused on paying attention to the guide on the shoe to really be able to use the laser. Combine that with accuracy problems on the lasers and I personally don’t get a lot of mileage out of them.

Featuring a powerful 15 Amp, high output motor, Bosch's CS10 7-1/4 In. circular saw offers fast, smooth cutting at a variety of different angles. A durable magnesium footplate means increased stability and precision accuracy. Weighing in at just 10.3 lbs., the Bosch CS10 is easy to handle and comfortable to use. An unobstructed view of the cut line means better visibility for more exact cuts. With a soft grip handle for added comfort, and a blower for better dust control, this is one user-friendly tool. The CS10 also features a 56-degree bevel capacity, along with positive detents at 22.5 degrees and 45 degrees for working on a wide variety of projects.
When it comes to studs, instead of automatically buying wood, consider metal. According to the Steel Framing Alliance, more than 40 percent of commercial structures are now built with steel framing and nearly 500,000 homes have been built with steel framing over the past decade. The best tool for fasteners in working with metal studs is an impact driver. Bosch CS5 Manual
You’ll find a circular saw in nearly every Pros arsenal. Corded models offer nearly infinite power as long as electricity is hooked up or there’s a generator nearby. And with most models offering a 15-amp motor, you get reliably solid power. Even the DIY models can make an effective cut with decent speed using an excellent blade. Around the country, these benefits make Pros keep choosing the cord over cordless convenience. Plus, corded tools don’t force you to stick with one brand’s battery platform – you can get the best tool in each class no matter who makes it.
