If you are planning to get yourself a new corded circular saw, the Bosch CS5 can be an excellent choice. Although the 7-1/4-Inch circ saw cannot be considered as a low priced tool, many buyers have said that the price is a bargain considering the features that it offers. Here is an unbiased review of the left blade circular saw to help you decide whether buying it is the right move for you. CS5 Bosch

When beginning your search for the best circular saw for you, there is one thing you will notice right away…the distinctions between circular saws aren’t always obvious. You can find one circular saw and think “looks good to me”, and right next to it is another and nothing seems noticeably different. Yet, there is a one hundred dollar price difference. Bosch CS5 Circular Saw Review

We gave this saw top score for its no nonsense, to the point design. It has all the most important features without the extra fuss and hassle of unnecessary bits and bobs. Its left hand design was enjoyed by both left and right handed users and although it is the fastest circular saw in its class, it still has a very competitive price. Here are a few other features worth mentioning. Bosch CS5 7-1/4-In Circular Saw
Bosch Speed Clean drill bits are code approved and meet OSHA standards for adhesive anchoring. Bosch has engineered the bit using a solid piece of steel with a dust channel milled to exacting specifications. It extracts dust while drilling, creating 25 percent greater drilling speed. Speed Clean is an important part of the PRO+GUARD™ dust system that helps users move toward compliance with the OSHA silica regulation. The bit life is comparable to the life of Bosch Bulldog™ SDS-plus® or Bosch SpeedX® SDS-max® bits. Be sure to watch the video to find out how Speed Clean works. One of the best things about the Bosch CS5 Power Saw is its left-blade design. There are a lot of people who do not realize this yet but the main reason why the blade is on the left side is because it will be easier for people, particularly those who are right handed to make use of the blade when they are working. It worked so well for me so I am sure that those who are going to make use of that too will also find it easy. Bosch CS5 Manual

The CS5 circular saw runs from a 120 volts supply and it is corded. While the lower guard has an anti-snug feature to prevent accidents, it weighs approximately 10 lbs, with a diameter of the 7.5-inch blade. Despite the fact that this is cheaper than other brands and models of the same type, it offers enormous power and durability. It is by far, one of the most preferred brands by most individuals, especially those who haven’t tried other circular saws yet.

There is no case to store it in. That was fine with me because I already had a designated spot for it in my cargo trailer. As for the outward appearance, It’s the standard blue shell, red trim and logo, with brushed metal accents. There is no safety trigger. This could be dangerous for children but a blessing to experienced users. I find some safety triggers to be hazardous because you have to focus on squeezing the trigger rather than focusing on the task at hand. Weighing in at 10 lbs., it’s lighter than the old circular saws I was accustomed to. The grip of the handle felt the same as my old saws except for a little rubber padding which was nice. The cord length on this and every other corded tool in history is too short for many typical tasks but that’s what extension cords are for. The sound of the saw is the same piercing scream and wind-down that we all love. There is no electric brake.
But therein lies the only significant con of a corded circular saw, the cord. This means you’ll be limited as to where you can do your work by the maximum length of your extension cord. Normally, this isn’t much of a problem but when it is, there is next to nothing you can do about it. A good extension cord will also add to the overall cost of the saw you purchase unless you already have one. CS5 Bosch
Wood router tools provide power and maximum control. That is especially true for palm routers, a class of woodworking tools that many may know as laminate trimmers. The Bosch PR20EVSPK Colt™ 1.0 HP Palm Router is a router tool that is a variable speed model, and the kit includes a plunge base to make it a handy and extremely versatile tool. It can handle many routing tasks just this side of a router table.

As mentioned earlier, one of the things that Bosch boasts about their CS5 is the left blade design. This robust, and simply powerful machine makes it more convenient and easier usually for right-handed users. This feature allows the cutter to have a direct line of sight whenever cutting, which means it is less prone to accidents, and its precision is unmatched.

Most Pros are pretty set in their ways when it comes to blade-left or blade-right circular saws. And it’s not simply a “righties want blade-left and lefties want blade-right” discussion. Clint and I are both righties – I prefer blade-left and he prefers blade-right. However, direct drive (sidewinder) circular saws like these are traditionally blade-right, but a few are bucking the trend. So whichever you like, here’s a quick list of where each one falls.
Cordless tools are all the rage and there’s no doubting their incredible convenience. Cordless circular saws like Makita’s 18V X2 Rear-Handle Saw pack a lot more power than those first models did. But not everyone’s on board with the cordless craze when it comes to circular saws. In fact, you’ll probably see more corded models than cordless in many areas. Why? Reliable power and nearly infinite runtime. Choosing the best circular saw isn’t always easy, and there’s more to consider than just specs. So we got together with our Pros to do the shopping for you with our Pro Tool Reviews Best Circular Saw Buying Guide. Bosch CS5 Dust Collection
The Bosch CS5 has an anti-snag lower guard which allows you to continue cutting without having to retract the guard, which is a pretty nice feature for seamless transitions or tricky cuts. The most notable feature is that it is a left-blade saw which some people prefer over a right-blade saw whether they are right-handed or left-handed. A left-blade saw with a right-handed person allows the operator to better see their cut-line. However, since the CS5 lacks a dust blower, it might end up as a wash. Bosch CS5 Case

I bought the battery version of this "left" circular saw and decided I needed more power for the multiple (over 50 sheets) of 3/4 plywood and OSB to cut. ( I know, very unrealistic and naive from my part) and got the Cs10 (blade on the right and hated it. You can't see what the blade is doing, or if it's flexing or anything, just like with every other saw I guess! But not with this one.
The most important part of the saw selection process is its durability. Whatever saw you pick, it must be durable enough to withstand the ruggedness of normal use. During selection, try to ask the hardware attendant if there is any possibility that you could do a durability test on the saw. Feel the saw in your hand. Try to drop it from knee height and see if it comes apart right away. Saws need to be tough since they are construction tools after all. See if the blade assembly is stable during operation and will not fall apart during operation.

Featuring a powerful 15-amp, high output motor, Bosch's 7-1/4" Circular Saw offers fast, smooth cutting at a variety of different angles. An advanced composite footplate means increased stability and precision accuracy. Weighing in at just 10.3 lbs., the Bosch CS10 is easy to handle and comfortable to use. An unobstructed view of the cut line means better visibility for more exact cuts. With a soft grip handle for added comfort, and a blower for better dust control, this is one user-friendly tool. The CS10 also Features a 56-degree bevel capacity, along with positive detents at 22.5 and 46 degrees for working on a wide variety of projects. Your purchase includes a 24-tooth carbide blade, a tool wrench and jobsite tool bag. Bosch CS5 Case
Before I made the decision to buy the Bosch CS5, I first did some research regarding which are the top electric circular saw in the market. I looked everywhere. I watched videos on YouTube, read product descriptions and reviews, and I even read the feedbacks the customers who purchased the product. According to one customer, he was more than satisfy with the Bosch CS5 not only in terms of its build, but also its performance. Bosch CS5 Review

You’ll find a circular saw in nearly every Pros arsenal. Corded models offer nearly infinite power as long as electricity is hooked up or there’s a generator nearby. And with most models offering a 15-amp motor, you get reliably solid power. Even the DIY models can make an effective cut with decent speed using an excellent blade. Around the country, these benefits make Pros keep choosing the cord over cordless convenience. Plus, corded tools don’t force you to stick with one brand’s battery platform – you can get the best tool in each class no matter who makes it. CS5 Bosch
