Whether it’s new construction or maintenance, many jobs require drilling holes in concrete. Selecting the right tool for the job is critical, but making the right choice can be complicated. Types of tools, bit holding systems and drill bit types, as well as nature of the job that needs to be done and availability of electric power – these are some of the variables that need to be taken into consideration.
One last thing, cordless circular saws tend to have smaller blades, usually about 6 ½ inches versus the more common 7 ¼-inch blades on corded saws. A 6 ½-inch blade is just barely enough to get through a 2x4 at 45°. Any smaller than 6 ½ inches severely limits the capabilities of the tool. There are some 7 ¼-inch cordless circular saws, but they are not as common.

The Bosch CS5 is a reliable tool for both DIYers and professionals looking for a solidly built circular saw. It stands out in a competitive arena with its high-end design, quality and power. However, this 7 1/4-inch circular saw has a couple shortcomings that keep it from being the best in our review, including a lack of positive bevel stops and an awkward, though effective, dust chute. Bosch CS5 Price Bosch designed new best-in-class portable vacuums to provide those who work with a great amount of dust on the job – applications such as tuckpointing or concrete surfacing, drilling, cutting or chipping. The design of the lineup of nine- and 14-gallon vacuums – the VAC090S and VAC090A nine-gallon vacuums and VAC140S and VAC140A 14-gallon vacuums – includes tool integration. Bosch CS5 Saw One real complaint; when you're cutting right-handed, the dust is directed right into your shoes and nailbags. The blade-left saw doesn't have a Bosch dust chute accessory available, and this saw really needs one. When you're cutting a post from right to left, the dust is projected straight up, into your face and eyes. Bosch needs a dust chute for the CS-5. I tried the dust chute for cs-10 and cs20, but it doesn't really attach to the CS-5 without major modification. It's a short-coming.
