There is no case to store it in. That was fine with me because I already had a designated spot for it in my cargo trailer. As for the outward appearance, It’s the standard blue shell, red trim and logo, with brushed metal accents. There is no safety trigger. This could be dangerous for children but a blessing to experienced users. I find some safety triggers to be hazardous because you have to focus on squeezing the trigger rather than focusing on the task at hand. Weighing in at 10 lbs., it’s lighter than the old circular saws I was accustomed to. The grip of the handle felt the same as my old saws except for a little rubber padding which was nice. The cord length on this and every other corded tool in history is too short for many typical tasks but that’s what extension cords are for. The sound of the saw is the same piercing scream and wind-down that we all love. There is no electric brake. Bosch Model CS5

This particular Bosch saw works perfectly, its easy to change the blades, the plunge depth and the angle of the cuts. I had not issues with any play in any of the settings on the saw (I've had this issue with some other saws which I've used). The saw cuts straight and true and being left-sighted makes it alot easier to see your markings and to make great straight long cuts.
Considering the best circular saw is a little easier than breaking down the incredible number of cordless saws out there, but most brands still have most than one model on the market. We chose only saws that have a 15-amp motor for consideration and went with the newest models from there. We looked at blade speed, watts out or horsepower (where available), bevel capacity and stops, blade orientation, other features, construction, and price.
Bosch was founded in 1886 by Robert Bosch who is known for having said he’d “rather lose money than trust.” Since then Bosch has cultivated a reputation for quality and innovation across a broad spectrum of equipment and services beyond just power tools. They create auto parts and accessories, have automotive service centers, garden tools, appliances, and more. Bosch CS5 Dust Collection
When beginning your search for the best circular saw for you, there is one thing you will notice right away…the distinctions between circular saws aren’t always obvious. You can find one circular saw and think “looks good to me”, and right next to it is another and nothing seems noticeably different. Yet, there is a one hundred dollar price difference. Another thing to consider is the functionality of the saw. Is the safety mechanism of the saw appropriate? Is the operating mechanism easy to access? When you cut wood, the shavings and dust will go spewing everywhere. Does the saw offer a dust chute to prevent those shavings and dust from going to your face? These are just some of the questions you need to ask before picking the right circular saw for you. Bosch CS5 Rip Fence
When it comes to studs, instead of automatically buying wood, consider metal. According to the Steel Framing Alliance, more than 40 percent of commercial structures are now built with steel framing and nearly 500,000 homes have been built with steel framing over the past decade. The best tool for fasteners in working with metal studs is an impact driver.
Dust collection has become a big issue, with OSHA looking closely at silica dust regulations. (You can read a primer about concrete grinding and OSHA here.) And, according to Cop Tool and Jay Amstutz, Bosch has a great new solution with the CSG15 Concrete Surfacing Grinder with Dedicated Dust Collection Shroud. The Bosch CSG15 is a next-generation surface grinder, replacing the Bosch 1773AK. Bosch CS5 Manual
During my construction and woodworking jobs, I often found myself using the circular saw more and more. I use it to cut hardwood that I use to make pieces of furniture, and house parts like windows, doors, etc. However, most of the blades of the circular saws that I've been using tend to wobble during prolonged use. There was also a time when the circular saw wasn't able to output the necessary power to make an efficient cut on the wood.
I was very disappointed in the blade depth locking mechanism and the baseplate as well with it's curved bottom edge making it hard to run against a thin straight edge. Because of the locking mechanism there's no strength between the saw and the base. Loved my left handed Porter Cable much better but couldn't find one. I own many quality Bosch tools but this one is not in their league.

Lots of experienced woodworkers name the router as one of most versatile power tools. Workers using a router can shape decorative edges, form raised panels, cut grooves and slots, carve signs, make moldings, rout intricate inlays, trim plastic laminate and veneers, and mill dozens of woodworking joints, including rabbets, dovetails and mortises. And while the best router is handheld for most operations, it can also be mounted in a router table, creating a small stationary shaper.
Bosch CS5 Circular Saw Review
However, a bit more research shows there is a universal rip fence out there, and it costs the same as the ill-fitting Skill! It comes with 4 guides to accommodate almost all circular saws, is reversible and has detailed measuring scales accommodating lumber up to 10 inches from the edge. It will also fit any jig saw and has a circle compass so you can cut circles in wood. So if you’ve already got a jig saw, this may be handy one day. Bosch Model CS5

Immediately after opening, I set the included blade aside and installed a fresh Freud blade, which I highly recommend. I found a use for the kit blade when demolishing a 100-year-old roof, which consisted of several layers of shingles, flashing, nails, and solid oak supports. Though this is not the intended use of the saw or blade, it got the job done after my reciprocating saw failed.
