Professionals and those who would like to do some hobbies with the use of the right tools. The right tool may be a circular saw power tool. It might be easy to search for various brands and models that are available but finding the right brand can be a bit hard. The CS5 and the CS10 both made by Bosch are considered to be a couple of the best power saws in the market right now but between the two, which one should people choose? This article will compare the two saws to help people make the right choice.
However, some do the job better than others. For instance, some of the 6 ½-inch blade saws may not even make a 45° or better cut through 2x material and even if they had the depth, they may not have the oomph to get it done. There is a rare need to go over 45° but if that’s something you anticipate you could need, then you’ll want to make sure you find a saw with that capability. Bosch CS5 Case

But therein lies the only significant con of a corded circular saw, the cord. This means you’ll be limited as to where you can do your work by the maximum length of your extension cord. Normally, this isn’t much of a problem but when it is, there is next to nothing you can do about it. A good extension cord will also add to the overall cost of the saw you purchase unless you already have one. Bosch CS5 Saw
This saw replaced another Bosch that was dropped 4 feet and landed on concrete. The base plate was twisted and the blade was a quarter inch out of alignment. Repair parts were no longer available for it. Bought this one as I am left handed and was excited to get a left handed model instead of a right sided one. Based on other reviews, I was concerned about the base plate flatness and blade alignment to the baseplate edge. When I set my new one up I found that the baseplate was flat and the blade alignment was spot on. I docked the review one star for two reasons, first, the bevel cut needed adjustment which was easy to do and second, I was disappointment that the saw did not come with either a case or a bag. You’ll find a circular saw in nearly every Pros arsenal. Corded models offer nearly infinite power as long as electricity is hooked up or there’s a generator nearby. And with most models offering a 15-amp motor, you get reliably solid power. Even the DIY models can make an effective cut with decent speed using an excellent blade. Around the country, these benefits make Pros keep choosing the cord over cordless convenience. Plus, corded tools don’t force you to stick with one brand’s battery platform – you can get the best tool in each class no matter who makes it. CS5 Bosch Circular Saw

The saw worked to perfection, I used it in combination with the Kreg Rip-Cut tool to get great straight cuts on my plywood and longer sections. I used it in concert with a sawhorse and some clamps to get great angled cuts. This tool can essentially replace a table saw and miter saw for "simpler" projects. I would saw that if one had a small budget, that the circular saw should be the first tool that you purchase. It is the tool that gives you the most bang for your buck.

The most important part of the saw selection process is its durability. Whatever saw you pick, it must be durable enough to withstand the ruggedness of normal use. During selection, try to ask the hardware attendant if there is any possibility that you could do a durability test on the saw. Feel the saw in your hand. Try to drop it from knee height and see if it comes apart right away. Saws need to be tough since they are construction tools after all. See if the blade assembly is stable during operation and will not fall apart during operation.

All of us who are into construction or woodworking have our own reasons for buying a good circular saw. We may use it for making pieces of furniture, or for heavy duty construction. The main reason, however, still remains the same--we need a circular saw that is not only affordable, but also durable and portable. As such, we require this kind of saw that strikes a good balance in all of the aforementioned criteria.

Finally, a word on using the line guide. For a normal 90° cut, you should use the left side of the notch as shown here in the diagram. For bevel cuts within the range 45° to 56° you should use the right side. Because saw blades vary in type and thickness, I strongly urge you to make a sample cut on a scrap piece of lumber to check the line of cut you’ll actually get. And remember, face the good side of the lumber down to ensure minimum splintering.
