The second disadvantage is where your body will be positioned if there is a kickback. With a right blade saw generally your body will be off to the side of the saw, reducing the chance a kickback will hit you. With a left blade saw, you move the blade closer and so your body is more in line with the saw if it kicks back. Also, on a left blade saw, your left arm will have to cross over the top of the saw blade if you are cutting with your right hand on the trigger. Bosch CS5 Case
Considering the best circular saw is a little easier than breaking down the incredible number of cordless saws out there, but most brands still have most than one model on the market. We chose only saws that have a 15-amp motor for consideration and went with the newest models from there. We looked at blade speed, watts out or horsepower (where available), bevel capacity and stops, blade orientation, other features, construction, and price.
Dust collection has become a big issue, with OSHA looking closely at silica dust regulations. (You can read a primer about concrete grinding and OSHA here.) And, according to Cop Tool and Jay Amstutz, Bosch has a great new solution with the CSG15 Concrete Surfacing Grinder with Dedicated Dust Collection Shroud. The Bosch CSG15 is a next-generation surface grinder, replacing the Bosch 1773AK.
You’ll find a circular saw in nearly every Pros arsenal. Corded models offer nearly infinite power as long as electricity is hooked up or there’s a generator nearby. And with most models offering a 15-amp motor, you get reliably solid power. Even the DIY models can make an effective cut with decent speed using an excellent blade. Around the country, these benefits make Pros keep choosing the cord over cordless convenience. Plus, corded tools don’t force you to stick with one brand’s battery platform – you can get the best tool in each class no matter who makes it. CS5 Bosch Circular Saw

The best circular saw overall is the Makita 5007MGA. It doesn’t have everything we’re looking for (most of us are blade-left guys), but it has all the other key components. It blends fast blade speed with deep cutting and takes advantage of magnesium to come in well under 11 pounds. On the feature side, it has the blade brake we consider a requirement for top Pro consideration, solid construction, 56 degrees of beveling with stops, and a cutline blower.
Powered by a 15 amp motor running off 120 volts, the Bosch CS5 7-1/4″ circular saw is expected to produce enough cutting power for various applications. Although it might not be the most powerful circular saw available, at this power level it is capable of cutting through 3/4″ of plywood and other dense materials. The motor can deliver no-load speed up to 6200 RPM. It is one of the fastest cutting saws in its class.
This saw replaced another Bosch that was dropped 4 feet and landed on concrete. The base plate was twisted and the blade was a quarter inch out of alignment. Repair parts were no longer available for it. Bought this one as I am left handed and was excited to get a left handed model instead of a right sided one. Based on other reviews, I was concerned about the base plate flatness and blade alignment to the baseplate edge. When I set my new one up I found that the baseplate was flat and the blade alignment was spot on. I docked the review one star for two reasons, first, the bevel cut needed adjustment which was easy to do and second, I was disappointment that the saw did not come with either a case or a bag. Lots of experienced woodworkers name the router as one of most versatile power tools. Workers using a router can shape decorative edges, form raised panels, cut grooves and slots, carve signs, make moldings, rout intricate inlays, trim plastic laminate and veneers, and mill dozens of woodworking joints, including rabbets, dovetails and mortises. And while the best router is handheld for most operations, it can also be mounted in a router table, creating a small stationary shaper. Bosch CS5 Dust Collection
A:  If it’s not cutting square this can be a few things. The first to check would be to ensure the bevel is set to 0° on your bevel adjustment. Then check if the blade is secure and not damaged or warped. If all else checks out, then you might need to make a bevel adjustment to return it to square. This video gives a good example of how you would need to do this. Bosch CS5 Circular Saw
Failing to get enough power to the saw not only prevents the saw from performing at its maximum, but will also shorten the life of your saw. However, you can go bigger on the extension cord as the saw will only draw the maximum amps its built for. You just don’t want the saw power starved. Generally, corded circular saws run in the neighborhood of 15 amps so you’ll probably want to invest in a minimum of a good 14-gauge extension cord.
Bosch Speed Clean drill bits are code approved and meet OSHA standards for adhesive anchoring. Bosch has engineered the bit using a solid piece of steel with a dust channel milled to exacting specifications. It extracts dust while drilling, creating 25 percent greater drilling speed. Speed Clean is an important part of the PRO+GUARD™ dust system that helps users move toward compliance with the OSHA silica regulation. The bit life is comparable to the life of Bosch Bulldog™ SDS-plus® or Bosch SpeedX® SDS-max® bits. Be sure to watch the video to find out how Speed Clean works. Bosch CS5 120-Volt 7-1/4-Inch Circular Saw
All you have to do is unpack this saw to know you no longer have another one of those throw aways.  I use it for making long cuts (mostly 8 ft) in 3/4 inch hardwood plycor plywood.  This saw simply does not bog down even when pushing it hard.  It does not overheat and it does not make that high pitched whine that most saws make.  It looks like quality, feels like quality, and performs like a true champion.  And for the first time, I can actually see where the blade is without craning my neck over the saw.  It is a keeper

The saw blade of the cs5 is positioned on the left side of the power tool. This means that right-handed users will be placed to the left of the tool when holding it in the correct position and therefore you will have direct line of site of where the blade is cutting. Until you’ve tried this the other way round, you won’t appreciate how useful this is! Having a clear view of where the blade is cutting ensures a more accurate cut all round.

The unit comes in the standard Bosch blue in color and weighs a total of 13.3 pounds.  Dimensionally it stands at, 17.3 x 11.4 x 11.4 inches making it ergonomic and lightweight. This saw is designed for clients who are looking for an affordable product which focuses on general, straight forward core user needs CS5 Bosch Circular Saw

The Bosch CS5 is a reliable tool for both DIYers and professionals looking for a solidly built circular saw. It stands out in a competitive arena with its high-end design, quality and power. However, this 7 1/4-inch circular saw has a couple shortcomings that keep it from being the best in our review, including a lack of positive bevel stops and an awkward, though effective, dust chute.

Two of the most notable features really play very well with one another. Those are the two LED work lights and the integrated dust blower. Both will allow you to clearly see your cut-line and ensure you are getting the most accurate cut you can. The scales on the shoe and the bevels are easy to read and all adjustments can be made with a single hand.
When selecting a circular saw, the first thing that you have to think about is what will you use it for. Of course you will use it for cutting materials. But what kind of materials will you be cutting most often. You surely don't need a metal saw if majority of the materials that you will be working on is wood. There's a power output difference between the circular saws for wood and the ones for metal. Obviously, you will require more power in cutting metal compared to wood. So before buying, think of how you will use it and what you will use it for.

You can also make bevel cuts (angled across the edge of the wood) by adjusting the bevel settings on your saw and plunge cuts. With a little practice, you’ll even be able to manage miter cuts (angled across the face of the wood) and if you really feel like stretching your limits go ahead and try making some dadoes, rabbets, and lap joints with multiple passes.
